Well November has been an ok month, first month for a while ive put volume in and achieved Silverstar at supermicros and i am pretty close to another $50 release of the Stellar Bonus....free money is good! However i also know that 2011 is gonna be an awesome year (i hope) and many interesting things may be afoot!!
I dont wanna be too eager but i do have something cool in the pipeline that may snowball but also have things i wanna achieve in 2011.

A Few More Of These Would Be Nice.....................

Had a real good few weeks, and this result im uber happy with as have struggles with sats and Steps quite a lot last few weeks.

Have Obvioulsy taken the T$ but have decided that if i ever have +$1000 TD then i will play the Sunday Million with the next seat i get for my shot at the big time.

TBH all these pros couldnt handle my play......(lol yea GTFO....ed)

Still Vblog due soon, however moving back to old mans very soon so main goal for rest of month is to hit Silverstar for Dec, and im not too far away from that in all honesty!

2011 looks to be an exciting year and Pokerwise there are a lot of things in the pipeline for me, so all will be revealied soon,........

Decided to play 10 x Step A's today €2.20 in a bid to run them up high for either a EPT shot, or to use for UKIPT sats later on in year.

Played 10 @ €2.20 (€22)

The early steps (Step A & B) awarded 1st and 2nd with ticket to next step, 3rd a retry at same step and 4th a small € prize

Started running really bad finishing:
6th - A9 < A6 aipf
8th - QQ < JJ aipf
5th - TT < QT aipf

Then started getting momentum:
3rd - Step A repeat (€2.20)

Start to Supernova

Looking like a Live d0nk

Figured the best way to start on the path to SN, with such a low roll would be to grind out the € and $ Steps, as with all the retrys that you can amass they are a great way to grind, with the end results being either shots at majors (with $215 tickets, or if i feel saucy a shot at a big live package)

Results so far:

4x Step A (€2.20) = 2x Step A retrys - AQ < AJ and QQ < A4 both 3 handed
1x Step 1 ($7.50) = 1x Step 2 ($27 value)

Find the €'s really tight, with 6-8 left at the 100/200 level often.
So im down in the €'s and up in the $'s so far. But will be using these as a FPP grinder
Need 500FPPs for silverstar next month and 2000 by end of year to release $50, so short term goals are those definatly.
As well as getting back into the delights of HUsng grinding, now rolled for $6.25's and $11's - with a mix of 4mans in there.

A Crazy Month - and a look to the future

Well...............................

My monies i ground up on Tilt has been withdrawn and i have 0 in all accounts.

Money came a big issue with new job, due to complications and travel etc so i withdrew it all.

Other things also going on in the background, but all will be revealed if needed.

So hunting for a job closer to home, but atm my focus has to be on that and not poker.

The light at the end of the tunnel is the DTD Grand Prix, which takes place the last weekend in October. I am regged for Day1b and the value is SICK!!!!!

They are gaurentee'in a £40k prizepool and £13k for 1st, as teh comp is a £50 buy in, thats extreme value.

Its also being filmed and shown on Sky/Virgin, so that will be interesting, sure many fish will be acting up to the cameras, hopefully there concentrations are on that whilst they donk there chips to me.

I am going up with a few friends, one of which has never played live before, so hope that goes well for him.

DREAMS OF SUPERNOVA

The Second Part of this Blog is a look to the future. I spent many times documenting goals, doing ok then having to cash out etc or failing, well next year i have a new one. And its stupid sick, but im a tryer.

Once i have this new job (and i wont have to spend £300 a month on fuel!) i will be depositing £150/$235 on Stars. This may be, before the turn of the year (hopefully) and i will be attempting to make Supernova...............WHAT I HEAR YOU SAY!!!!!!!...................yes Supernova.

Now i know this is a redic idea, and in all honesty i am 80% certain i wont get there however that wont deter me.

My FullTilt grind was very succesfull turning $65 into $350 in 9 weeks, shows that when i put my mind to it i can do it. Also working closer to home will help me do this as i wont have a) the financial pressures of old job and b) live closer to home and be able to play a bit more.

So what do i actually want to achieve - i just want to prove i can put the effort in and reap rewards.....i fully know it will be pretty impossible but id like to see how close i get and how much i can win.

Just to round up the levels on Stars they are as follows -

Monthly

BronzeStar - 0vvp - 749vpp per month - earns 1fpp for every 1vpp

SilverStar - 750vpp - 2999vpp per month - earns 1.5fpp for every 1vpp

GoldStar - 3000vpp - 7499vpp per month - earns 2fpps for every 1vpp

PlatinumStar - 7500vpp + per month - earns 2.5fpps for every 1vpp

Supernova - need to earn 10,000 vpps in the calender year.

How to earn vpps = mtt - you earn 5.5 vpps per $1 rake or 8vpp per 1e rake

cash - you earn 6vpps per $1 rake or 8.5vpp per 1e rake

Hopefully Stars will run a stellar reward program again, that would be nice!!

I basically need to earn 1000 vpps a month to be safe or rake $182 per month................nice!!!

My plan of attack will be simple -

Lots of HU sngs, and micro cash to start, then some fpp sats, with the occasional mtt (bink me a score plz)

Whether i do it or not it should be fun.

Got a 7 day free trial on dragthebar.com with access to some good vids.
Sadly I can't download them off the site for future review, however a friend gave mr an idea that worked ;)

played hardly any cash, just a few mtts, with really deep results but no big scores!!

Had a great lil session today, unlocking another $10, meaning i have $20 left to unlock by 29th Sept......easy!!!

the last 2000 hands saw me win 3 buyins too, really solid session with only 1 big losing hand...AA v Q9 on Qxx flop but won a huge pot with 33 v JJ on a 3T9 board, the benefits there were: i) i started the hand with $25 ii) he started with $21 ;) iii) he didnt get there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished 39/2116 in the $2 rush rebuy, i had only regged and added on so was in for $4 total and won $39, altho did get it in with A9 vKJ lol and he binked

Anyways decided to fire up some cash tables during happy hour to get some points towards the bonus and the shit hit the fan, winding up in my losing all profit for the month

7k hands earnt the 1st $40, so another 10-11k should unlock it all, dedication is now the key.

Blogs are a serious grind

The weekly vblog will be up tonight!!!
I've taken to updating the blog after every session, the day after-allowing for a wee bit of musing over the prior night.

Volume wise it was a poor session only hitting 800 hands, although was playin 4x Rush and 3x standard tables as missus was Ill and although she encouraged me to play (she likes the idea of free money!) I was more interested in playing doctor.

In the 800 hands, however, I made 2 buyins and earnt another $5 of the bonus. Lost a buyin on last hand of the session with AA v TT, flop came T98 and I check shoved into TT, hate the way I played the hand but the guy was pretty poor and figured he'd stack off with a lot of hands there.

Also found myself Layin down JJ post flop on a 3 under board. Tough to do but so often right it's untrue.

Didn't play the PPP mixed game last night which has prop screwed me in the POTM, must be a fair way behind now. Will play the game tonight tho, I won it last week and with $65+ up top it's worth playing IMO.

Won't be a huge session tonight, but depending on how the session starts you'll prob find me hammering the volume throughout the night and especially during happy hour.

Hope this grind proves succesful as really need a new moniter and pc!!!! Like NOW!!!

Haven't really touched stars for a while, kinda wanna clear tthis bonus before ploughing hours into HUsngs. Although the hourly win rate is gonna be slow it'll be fun.

As for the $22 hu mtt I'm still not rolled for it but will try and play it once a week and sell %% obv!! ;)

earnt $7.50 rake in 3days, and have a few big sessions aheaso $20 is acheiveable, he says ;)

added one other goal for Xmas, and that's to play a Sunday Major be it the Stars Sunday Million, or the Full Tilt Mulligan. Any high rollers wantin to invest let me know!! ;)

if my sng strat was any good I'd prob look to invest in some steps/sats for them. Have to look into it.
I think the correct course of action is to try for 2x seats so i have the safety net of $215 td.

Terrible session tonight, 2k hands and released another $10 bonus but dropped 3x buyins overall

started terribly with TT v 66 on 6TAK board when he rivers the case 6, and goes down hill from there. Top 2 v bottom set. KK into AA and KK losing to AK all for buyins means after 4k hands I'm only 12$ up but playing well.

Releasing the $100 is angrind but achievable

Lets just pray I'm not coolered and sucked out on like tonight for a while.

Try for another 2k hands and $10 release tomorrow and sure that bonus + rake will mean an ol' end for the month.

Starting roll was only $65 and stillin aiming for $250 by 29th of sept

Found I had a hidden $100 bonus on FTP tat gets released in $10 increments from earning FTP Points, and ends on 29th September. Focus is to empty this, it will be a grind but doable at rush NL10, just need some serious sessions. 2k hands releases $10 roughly so, aiming for 20k in hands by above date. Crazy!!!
Played 2k hands yest and released the first $10 as well as winning 4.5 buyins, of only I could run like that every day!!

Only managed 1x HU sng which I shipped in 1 hand. Had TT and guy 3 bet shoved, I snap he shows 44......sadly no rematch, woulda played him allday!!!

Finally played the PPP varition night game, which was Razz. I love these variation night games PPP put on, on a Tuesday as it's a cheap way to learn new poker formats. Finished 3/19 for $11 and change. Which for a $3 buyin is ok.

They did hold a hu tourny on Monday which I missed, how gutted am I!!

Anyway a positive start, hopefully miracles happen and I can win 4.5x buyins every 2k hands at Rush!!! Like that's gonna happen!!! Would actually be.....$450 profit + $100 bonus + rakeback = sicklife!!!

Hopefully rakeback will be uber sick this month ;)

Its been a while

Well after the incident with the car ive not really been playing much, due to limited finances, however have been eager to get back on the virtual felt and ship some chips.

Have been doing a few radio spots on PPP Radio, http://www.pokerplayersplace.com, which has been great and am currently in discussion of getting something fixed with them, which would be cool.

Also had Fezio offer to buy some of me in the $22 Turbo HU mtt on Stars to help due to my situation, and after selling 50% to him, and 25% to Tom Feilding i decided to play.........finishing 3rd for $400 which was nice. Also managed to win a PPP Private game too, to help me have a mini roll to start with again.

Other than that not a great deal has happened.......which is no suprise!

I know i am one for setting goals etc and i rarely keep to them as i am a glutton for the monies but i have realised a few things since the mini break.

1) I actually have perfromed strongly when backed by GNF's online. Did i quick count up and my backers in my BAPS etc online, through GNF, have an roi of 140+% from me, which i am really chuffed about. Hopefully this will mean things will continue with them if needed.

2) I need more structure in my online play. I know what my strengths are, and i find that i cant keep to them, which is now stopped. As for goal setting, im only setting 2x indivdual goals to achieve by xmas and they are not profit driven, but more volume driven......hopefully this will help me focus.

Goals for xmas are to:

1 - achieve $15 a week rakeback on FullTilt, as i am playing NL10 this could be tough but achieveable if approached correctly.

2 - Earn enough FTPs to treat myself to something i wanna buy, whatever it is.

3 - On Stars play at least 30 $6.25 HU sngs a week, these are what i crush, and although i earn $1, looking for the big win was always my problem, I honestly know i can beat these prob up to $55 level, just need to be patient to get there, it will come.

I also want to be more consistant in my Blog updating, my radio presenting on PPP and am gonna look into the new year, for some coaching in a new aspect of Poker, not a variation but probably multitable sngs, as i feel they are prob my weakest type of game atm.

FINALLY.............................................a live final table!!!

Its taken soooo long and so many close runs but it feels sooo good!

Decided to play the £30 Friday night game at the Gala which got 90 runners and £1000 first prize, drawn into Table 1 Seat 8, i sit down with my dinner only to be joined by 4 regs that i know, all of different standard and playing type, but was absolutely gutted to see a nit to my left. As the game progressed i found that 3 to my left was also nitty.

As the first few levels played out i noticed that the guy to my right was very Loose and Passive, and that another character (middle aged guy with CoralPokerTour tshirt on) was hyper aggressive!

I chipped up slowly, claling raises in position and betting flops that had obv missed, and occassionally 3betting the hyper aggro guy.

Before i knew it i had doubled my stack without showdown, and felt in control.

In the BB i am faced with another raise from they LAG guy, and i flat with J9o, the flop comes J87 (2 clubs) and i lead out thinking he will prob shove here, which he does. I call and he shows K4cc and i fade the turn and river, and now have a decent stack (25k @ 100/200)

I soon bust the nit with Q3 v TT and am in top 10 stacks with 40 remaining.

At this point i had only seen 1 Pair (77) and hardly any premium cards, but just found myself pinching points alot.

At this point Mick joins my table with 15bb and offers me 20% swap, as i know him i accept even tho i have a huge stack and play resumes.

Down to 20 players and im still sitting pretty with 30k, and bluff a huge pot vs young table CL

He raises Hijack, and i smooth in the bb with 33

Flop comes K99, and i check raise the minimum and he mucks his 88 face up ;) i show the vluff to hope to tilt him which it does! but it bites me in the ass later!

From here i cant win a pot........................

i have 99 v short stacks KK

next hand the young kiddy from the 88 hand squeezes with 55 i call with 99 and he binks!!!

then with 6bb i flop 2 pair on a 624 board with 62cc, i check to the bb who puts me all in, i call and he shows Q4o turn is 4 and i bust 17/90!!!!!!!

GRRRRRRRRRRR about 40% of the live mtts i have played in the last 8 months i have had the final 2 tables but had ZERO final tables.....run bad sucks!!!

Anyway i wake up to find a text from Mick to say he chopped it and i had £80 waiting for me, i pick it up off him and its in chips! so i decided ill drive to bristol and change it, plus play the £20 day game!

This was an odd odd comp, firstly i draw Table 1 Seat 8 again?! and have a really poor table, with a chinese manaic on my table who i just could hit a flop against, and spent the most part of the game folding. There was only 40 runners and i figured that with only £290 up top i'd play for the win, but in the first 3 hours i was yet to see a pocket pair or Ax higher that a 3!

I get moved to another table when 18 left, and preceed to donk of half my stack with JTdd v QQ on T33 board, i call the shorties shove and when the J on turn comes he starts moaning about a bad beat (d'oh he has won!) and as its the last hand before the break i just walk off as the chips are passed to me, and he throws his QQ into the Muck, i pop back after a fag to see that the chips have been moved to him now, which is ok as he won the hand but i dispute to the dealer that he mucked his cards (this wasnt me being a bitch i just figured he would call me lighter if i winding him up!) When i moved to this table i had shown lots of bluffs, which i hoped was to work well now i had 10bbs

I get into another pot with the QQ guy with T8hh on a Ah5hTs and shove, he calls with AJ and i bink a Qh on river to double up weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Now this table was really tight so i figured id have my wicked way, i started talking a lot of shit and joking around, and people started calling me light and as this happened my stack started to grow! ;)

I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER!

With 26k and 12 left im happy to fold my way to my first final table in ages until i have a SB v BB hand on a 883 flop with K8, it all goes in and the shortie had A8 hmph, down to 13k with 12 left and the blinds at 400/800............work to do!

All of a sudden 2 players get KO'd in a 3 way all in on the other table and its there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A FINAL TABLE! So deserved if i do say myself!!!

In the break before the Final Table i sit down at 25p/50p with £25 and play 1 hand.............straddlin the BB to £1, utg raises to £3, 3 callers and i look down at TThc and shove (we had just been called!) UTG calls and all else fold

UTG show KJo (oh how i wish i could sit in this cash game all night!) i fade and take £60 off the table! Easy Game

Back to the Final Table i have the WORST seat ever with my stack.

To my left is Bob, a local who is an absolute nit, and he has 9k in chips, to his left is Mo (another local with the CL 35K) and 2 to his left is another local nit (David) with 20k.

Obviously being so card dead for so long is pretty ghey but with top 6 paid and being one of the shorties i need to either run good, get some hands or both.

Carddead, i start pinching some blinds with rags, and build my stack up to 21k, whilst this happens 2 players bust. I finally get a pocket pair on the button (TT) with utg+1 min raising i repop to 4800 and Bob then shoves in the SB, utg+1 folds and i call.............he shows AA!!! OMFG This is uber ghey!!! First pair all day, and i walk into AA lolz!

My next BB i get a walk, and look down to AK lol, getting better!

two quick bustouts at there are 6 left and i am very short (6bb) but 2 of the CLs get it in with KK v AK and the board runs out KT3QJ - Super sick, but means there are 5 left, and averages stack is 10bb.

3 of us have 6-7bb each and the rest is shared evenly by the 2 CLs and they offer a chop - £200 each for the top 2, and £100 each for us shorties - i obv snap call and the deal is made!!

Played a little bit tonight,

Entered 2x $3.30 ko 90 mans on Full Tilt

Took 1x 50c KO but exited pretty deep in with standard hands (AK

Also played the 100fpp game on Boss, and went from 1/10 at Final table to out in 10th with AK<55 and 66< AQ hmph!

Decided to play some cash instead with profit on both sites:

1x 6max 10c/25c and busted $10 pretty quick with AA v TT aipf

Was pretty quiet till i got it in aipf with AA v QQ v AK and i held up

So ended the day pretty much breakeven on FullTilt and +80e on Boss

Not great but ill take it

Just need to confirm with RakeBackPros that my 27% is on FullTilt, and make sure i make use of my 30%Rake on Boss (have to rake 100e minimum tho)

Once all that is done i just need to sort out how to get PT3 to display my rakeback on both sites and ill be a happy boy!!!!

And no its not a Glee quote, dont ask how i know that!, but more of a crossroads that i am gonna breach.

Ive spent alot of my poker playing years taking shot after shot and not succeding, only to then need to cash out for personal reasons and this yo-yo effect can play on the brain.
A good friend of mine, only 2 years ago (maybe less) was doing the same until a decent score, and now has 1x Sunday Million under his belt, and has been pro for 12 months playing the $100, $200 and $300 HU sngs on Stars. This is a life a) i want, and b) if possible for any good poker player.

Now looking at my stats on some sites you would think im a huge fish, due to my want of a big score i play well outside my roll and try to hit that big 4 figure ship and although ive had some decent runs and been close, its not happened.

I realise this, and upon reflection hate myself for doing it, i really do.

My new direction has been inspired by reading ALOT of poker literature both in the form of books and the net, researching theories etc and in conclusion i have set myself a personal Prop Bet that i believe can ( in time) allow me to grow as a player (and my roll)

The Direction is very dicsapline based and if i am serious about improving and winning i will stick to it.

Here it is:

PokerStars:
Weeks 1-3 of the month $6 HU sngs only (i crush these regulary with a 20%+ roi)
Week 4 of the month $6 HU sngs and use 20% of PROFIT to play a few mtts

Only exception is i can play the $5k gaurenteed HU mtt

Poker.co.uk
Only play mtts throughout the month, mainly the 10e rebuys with big gaurentees and a few of the others plus use all FPPs earnt in the freerolls.
Any score of 1000e +, half is to withdrawn to the poker bank account (for later use)

FullTilt Poker:
Weeks 1-3 of the month $3.30 KO 90mans (experimental atm - if it goes wrong ill play HU here too)
Week 4 the sngs with 20% of profit to play a few Deepstack Mtts (Superstack and Doublestacks)

I will also dedicate at 1 night a week to review hands etc on PT3 to fix any leaks, and use forums more regulary to get ideas, critisism and advice.

This plan is stringent till the end of the year and i hope to play the following volumes:

$6 HU on stars - 500 games by December 25th 2010
$3.30 KOs on FT - 800 games by Decemebr 25th 2010
Boss MTTs - achieve 2500e profit by December 25th 2010

Wanted to start my cash grind today, but came to a halt when i saw a 6e Deep and Steep on Boss, so entered that thinking obv the "steep" part refered to the blinds being slow...........not turbo!!

I one tabled this whilst eating etc and when i checked i was 20/40/207 with 30 getting paid, which was nice.
Sadly i couldnt take it down, which pissed me off no end, but sadly we had 10bb each HU, if deeper i am certain my HU experience woulda helped me win this MTT, but ill settle for 2nd shoving T2o into K6 and neither of us improving.

Back to Back Final tables on Boss, its good to see as last few months have had a lot of deep runs, with zero results, hopefully a taste of things to come.

Playing @ Dusk Till Dawn tomorrow, there is a £3k gaurenteed DeepStack starting at 3pm, £25 + £6 Buyin, 30 minute blinds and 10k starting stack.
My live mtt performances have been pretty frustrating as of late, with no final tables since Febuary but numerous deep runs to the last 20-11 players, lets hope i can go one better this time and cover my missed wages from work!!! ;))

Had 2 sessions so far, and won tb eplaying again till tuesday as am off to Blackpool in a bit for the World Pool Championships.

UKIPT Edinburgh - Shares being Sold in Stars Sats

Looking for backers for the UKIPT Edinburgh event sats on Stars with view of qualifying and playing the event, which is a £500 + £50 entry fee.

The schedule for sats are as follows:

£5.50 rebuy
£8.80 rebuy
£22 f/o

which all lead into the final sat which is
£108.50 which gaurentees 2 seats but with 1 in 5 players making it its good value.

The schedule i would play would be:
1 x £5.50 rebuy (£20.50)
1 x £8.80 rebuy (£32.80)
1 x £22 f/o (£22)

I am looking for £120 worth of backing (66%ish) and obviously if i satty in the %% carries over to the event in Edinburgh.

Back on Stars playing the HU sngs Turbos, $6 stake and cruising at roughly a 21% roi which is pretty solid. The plan for the immediate future is to completely hammer these as well as putting in the volume for my STAKER..........Yes you heard it, My Staker.

Not gonna release names or sites but i have the current deal set up

$5 HU sngs on ipoker network.
50/50 spilt of profit each month + if i acheive a 5%roi or better i get 50% of any Rakeback bonus' (now on this site my staker has sorted me out 50% rake so therefore id get 25% of total rake earnt each month)

Luckily for me this guy is offering the deal all the way up to the $100 stakes on iPoker, so will be looking to impress and keep up volume, profit and make it worthwhile for us both.
I will start by only 2x tabling to see how i go on the software as it will take some getting used to and the traffic is obv not gonna be as busy as stars.

This next month is gonna be mad with volume and i am gonna be very very very focused on 2 goals and will plan out the month as best i can, in terms of when where and volume i play.

I ultimately wanna put in 400 games for my backer in July and hope to achieve 20% roi (which is currently what i make on Stars) this would net me roughly $200 + $25 (rake)

Well its the last night of freedom, as the missus is back on Monday - and as i have pool alllllllllll day tomoroow i only have/had tonight to grind.
So in preperation i went and got some bacon, coke, water, cigs and bread so i can make some juicy ass Bacon Sarnies and get a real good grind on the go till 2am when TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Finale airs on ESPN, so i can watch Court Magee get KTFO - the guy looks like a Gargoyle - Ugly Mutha Fucker!!! (Not that id say that to his face mind! ;) )
Well i cant focus on playing at all, eyes have started watering and feeling crazy tired!!!!!!

I know i SHOULD get an early night as pool is about 2hrs 30mins drive away tomoz, so its a early start, but i really wanted to grind!!

I now know my biggest enemy is VOLUME as ive just filtered out all the shit on my SScope graph and have seen i have the following stats:

Played 121
Ave Profit = $1
ROI - 21%
Winnings = $156

My biggest issue is Volume and i think that is driven by my lack of care for Rake on Stars.......ive let myself go down to a Bronzestar since playing cash and now cant be fucked to get it back up and reap the benefits.
Amazingly ive played nearly 200 hu sngs already this MONTH on the BOSS network (Poker.co.uk)
and this is largely due to the fact that i get 30% Rakeback and the 5e HU turbos only have a 25c rake and therefore i need to play 400 jus tto get back 30e.

Looking more closely at the $6.25 HU Turbos on stars, you get 1.38FPPs for each u play and you need to earn 750 just to move up to the SILVERSTAR status. Once here u earn 1.5FPP for every 1VPP u earn so it starts to get better. GOLDSTAR may be a little tough to reach so ill set sites lower.

Its pretty certain ill start July with BRONZESTAR but will set myself teh challenge of the following:
A) Making SILVERSTAR
B) Maintain an 15% ROI
C) Only play HU Turbo games!

This could be tough and my rough calculations mean i would need to play 550 HU sngs all at the $6.25 level.
NOW if i maintain the 15% ROI that would equate to a cool $515 profit in the month.

Now that would be a result!

140 HU sngs a week is a FUCKING LOT!!!!

As mentioned prior after running cold @ $11 HU sng Turbos on Stars i moved back down to the $6 turbos which i had a good solid ROI in.

Well just put a session in of 13 games and won 9 lost 4 so made a cheeky 5 buyins, real happy with the way i played considering 2 of my losses were Q2 v K2 on a QK22A board and another to a guy that shoved all in EVERY HAND, i called with 66 he had A4 and turned an A :( but other than that im pretty happy

After speaking to a friend a small possibilty of something in the pipeline, and yea, feeling good!!!

There is life in the Old D0nk yet!

Well had my 2nd Interview for a new job which seemed to go really well, and considering i didnt feel 100% prepared i am fairly confident, this good start to the day was marred when my tooth broke in half eating a Ham & Mustard Sarnie, FML!!!

Came home to watch some shit ass football game that i dont want to even mention and at half time decide to grind on PCUK again.

It started of really well, playing great and winning 5/6 and then the PCUK doomswitch hit leaving me on 5/14 wins.

Been grinding the Turbo HU sngs (5e) on PCUK today.
Played 33 today and won 25. OMG they are so so so so much softer than the $6.25 ones on Stars!
Last month i played 200ish on Stars and had an roi of 20% and was chuffed, have an roi of 37% on PCUK over 54 games!! (yes i know its f all amount of games) but pretty chuffed to have made 100e whilst watching TomF on Nutz tv and watching the football!

Got pool tonight, so wont be online, however may try and skip pool to play the £30 comp at Broadway with Dr Shmeiglini!

Also chuffed i finally have some monies on PCUK now lol, only deposited 30e to play the forum game last tuesday, and its over 200e now

Made roughly 80e today which is fine by me, but on the downside i havent played a single HU sng on Stars since moving up to the $11 level after pwning the $6 ones last month!!!!

Started my plight on PCUK HU sng turbos tonight and only managed 24 games as the World Cup kinda got in the way, which also meant i didnt play a single $11 game on Stars!!!! d'oh

ive started with 100e on PUCK playing the 5.25e hu sngs and OH MY GOD they are soft!!!!

I played 24 games and made 24e (exactly 1e per game) and a 19% roi for the night which is ok, however it was as high as 37% roi until i only managed 2 wins in the last 6 with AT < A4 aipf (4 on river), 99 v 88 apif (8 on turn) and AK v QJ apif (J on river) meh meh meh.

Bit gutted at its ending, as coulda increased roll by 50% if i hold up, but as the forum guys would say, i got "s4ootered" lol :)

Basically as its well known i run like dogshite, if u get 3 outered on a river its called being s4ootered! Nice eh!

Anyway what can i say, im gutted that i didnt get anywhere near my volume but can see some major profits on Boss, as HU regs are awful!!

I keep forgetting to update my blog as i am such a loser.
Basically i am going to be a lot more scheduled in my poker approach and hope i can start to keep myself playing the games i should, and the games i want.

Last month i had my biggest winning month (both live and online) but actually played the least which is odd, had a good evening @ Gala winning roughly £600 at PL Omaha and £200 at Holdem.

Just to update you guys i am currently grinding the Turbo HU sngs on Stars and have moved up from $6 to $11 after maintaining a 22% ROI

Today/Tonight i am gonna have a huge session trying to fit in 30x $11.25 HU sngs on Stars and 30x 5.25e HUsngs on Boss as well as a few mtts,

Will keep up on the reporting i promise.

Found my niche, which seems to be HU sngs, of which i am currently still playing $6.25 but have an ROI of roughly 18-20% and returning on average a $1 a game, so its all good.
Sadly cant seem to cash in any other vairent (HU mmts, or KO HU MTTS)

Been a while since my last update but its been a torrid time

Cant muster a cash on the Boss networkm just bubble after bubble.

Played a few mtts on Stars and cashed in them all but only for small amounts, just seem to run like dogpoo when it matters deep. for example finishing 260/6800 in the $3 rb, $50k gaurenteed, lost KK v JJ aipf for a pot to put me in top 30 chip stacks!!!
Also got ko'd in the daily 80k in the money with KK v AK

Positives must be taken tho, and ill finally win those spots, and be on to a deep run. I hope.

Started playing the 6max, $6 turbo sngs on Stars with mixed results.
Only played 40 in total with a ROI of -20% lol but that was one session of 16 where i won 1 and didnt cash in anymore!!!!!! before that session started my ROI was 48% lol
Obv the volume is minimal atm, but will see a gradual increase im sure

Chatting to a good friend of mine, a 10% roi is sustainable at these levels, so being egotistical i want to have a 17% roi in them after 300 games.
which should equate to $350 profit. :)

i also aim to have played 1000 of them by the end of April, which would roughly equate to (if i maintain that sexy roi) $1200 profit - thats leaderboard territory!!!

if i achieve that, then i would deffo be looking to move up to the $13 games and crush them too!!

With the prop bet kinda looking bleak, i have made the realisation that by concentrating on $$$$ i have been playing way out of my roll and swinging up and down like an idiot, so i have a new approach to reach the same goal.

Im gonna concentrate on ROI and less on the cash tables

Gonna have move up/down targets:

move down when i have 50buyins only at a level, move up when i am acheiving a minimum of 10% roi over 500 games minimum but the levels alter

$150 or less, $3 6 max turbos, move up when roi is 20% (200 games minimum)
$600 or less, $6 6 max turbos, move up when roi is 17% (1000 games minimum)
$1600 or less, $16 6 max turbos, move up when roi is 13% (400 games minimum)

Thats as far as i will plan, and am playing the $6 games atm. :)

Febuary was tough - swang from -$250 to +800 nd ended right where i started at $100 lol
understandably the risk is very high with NL100 ss'ing but i havent ran so -ev in a long time.
Used up all my FFPS to collect tourny dollars with i pissed away on steps, getting nowhere fast.

I did make Goldstar last month and hope to do the same this month, im only 500vvps away from a free $50 woooohoooooo!!!! lol

Decided that im gonna use these Steallar rewards for tounry play as until i have a roll up to $1250 minimum i cant really be playing them.

Will also convert some into sterling and use it to try and satty into UKIPT events!!

I shall be playing a few events in the mini ftops, just being a lil sat whore on there at the mo, as they also ran some freerolls if you do some sort of challenges?!

Been a hectic couple of days, so havent played much but will be back on form soon enough.
End of Feb and March will be busy poker months for me.

With a (now reduced) target of $750 by the 1st March, i shall be multi tabling NL100 the following times

Hope to bust another 5k hands minimum which means this month i will have played just shy of 20k hands @ NL100. To be honest if i can end those sessions in the GREEN then i would have only had one losing session this month, sadly it was half my roll (TILT!!)

Quick update, played 900 hands tonight for a massive $4 profit lol
Was about $90 up and then decided to grind out Goldstar tonight.
Loat a big pot with AK v A7cc on K39cc board, all went in for club on the river
and had AA 4bet pre by 35cc which also hit his flush! i hate clubs!!!!

But Goldstar was made!!! w00p w00p!!
Roll is still $330ish booo, but all is ok. Coulda done wit finishing $90 up - roll back over $400 =

Gonna aim for Platinum Star next month, which is 7500vvps in march, so ave = 242 a day which is almost impossible to do whilst 4 tabling NL100. Hopefully missus will buy me a 2nd moniter for my bday in March which will help me be able to 8 table!!! Sadly my day is at the end of the month!

i reckon you earn about 1/2vvp per hand so thats about 3750 hands a week - bearing in mind i only play 3/4 days max!! thats 1000 hands a session - DEFFO need 2 moniters and 8 tables running!!!

Still aiming for $750 roll by end of the month

Also gonna treat myself from the Stars store, but cant decide if i should:
A) concentrate on roll and therefore use points for sats into bigger tournies (then unreg and take T$?)
B) each month get some bits with fpps ive earnt, ie there is a zippee i quite like and also like the leather jacket?!

Feb Update - the tilt came - and it hurt!

Quick Update:

Decided to put in a 10 hour session tuesday night, and the shit hit the fan.
Lost a lot of races, 9 to be exact and walked KK into AA twice.
Also had overpairs cracked 3 times aipf, and after that i just tilted, played badly due to tiredness and generally fucked the month up.

Had another session Wednesday night and had another winning session.

All in all ive had one losing session this month since moving to NL100 however it was a big one (see pic)

Obv not looking to make $1000 by end of month, but am looking to do the following:

Roll = $750
Goldstar status (in the bag as only 350vpps away)
Earn next Stellar award (900vpps to go for a free $50)
Sort out my redline (see graph)
Follow the following guidelines to protect roll from tilt and stupid sessions!
1) Shortstack with $20 - once have $50 leave table
2) Stop session if at any point i am -$60 on the session (have to due to roll)
3) Stop playing MTTs - until roll is $1250+
4) Once playing MTTs, only use $100 per month max, anything bigger must use fpps to satty into. The reason i have chosen $100 is that i win that in 2 sessions, therefore once that is won for the month, hopefully by the 2nd of the month, then i can have a little freedom to play mtts.
5) Dont mix MTTs and cash in a session. Just seems to tilt the fook out of me!

Anyways enough rambling

Played the $3.30 $1.5k gaureteed hoping for a deep run.
finsihed 98/2800+ which was deep but man i run bad when it matters.

In the first hour i had KK twice - lost to AJ and AQ lol
also had in 1st hr 88, 33, 33, 44 all making sets so built up a healthy stack

was lookin good as the money burst with a healthy stack.

Got chopped in half when i managed to get the table idiot (thats still in!!) to committ his stack aipf with QJo v my AJss only for him to hit a 2 outer!!! 5s 3s 9h Kd ......................Qd lol

from then on in i was v v short, and afterr swiftly tripling up with AA i lost 80% of my stack when i managed to get a idiot to shove all his money in on a flush draw vs my flopped set of 9s - only for him to river it again!

Then i was uber short......comtemplted a shove with 37o in sb with two limpers and bb in hand and didnt - flop then comes 3 5 7 :(

Massive update!!!

Played our monthly home game Saturday night with some great results!!!

Played the 5pound game, Finished 1/6 won 20pounds
Played teh 20 pound game, Finsihed 1/6 won 80pounds
Played the 5pound game, Finished 3/6 won 0

so took 50 quid with me (my monthly limit) and walked away with 120 which is a cool $195

so overall roll is stood at $320

Small Update of the HU variety!

Played 53 games of HU and have made $20 profit, which is a lowly 6% ROI, poor i know.

I did misclick and reg to an $11 4 man HU sng oops, 10% of roll on the table!!

but won it, haha.

Ill be honest i find the $6 hu's very VERY beatable, but had 1 dyer session which pretty much fucked everything up, and have just been grinding back ever since.

Overall for the challenge im a month in and i feel i just spent the first of the 13 months testing out some diff types of games to see where my edge is. Definatly found it in HU comps, but roll is not really where it needs to be.
Need 30-50 BI to be comfortable and im nowhere near that.

i was thinking of playing the following more regulary:

$5 winner takes all HU mtt
$2.20 winner takes all HU mtt
$22 HU mtt, $5k gaurenteed, need to start playing that as soon as roll allows as its a whopping $1.5k on average for first, which is definatly achievable. Just need the roll!

Round Up of last couple of days.

After a good start to my $6 hu marathon i had a really big downswing, and oh my god didnt it hurt!

Won 13 Lost 7 in first session, 3 losses due to connection issues :(

Then played another 14 yesterday and only won 3!! had an 8 game losing streak, which saw me get money in 2 times with turned flush, only for villian to get a paired board on river for full houses!! a couple of sick 3 outers and AA aipf getting busted by Q5o lol

so in total i had:

I lost 2 consecutive to "imperial01" who was nothing short of awful, but managed to get a hot deck and i lost 4 flips on the trot to him. Both games saw me take a big advantage. And then with blinds at 50/100, and me with 2000-2300 and him with 700-1000 chips. I lost the following:

AK v 55 (leaves me short stack)
77 v AT (he hits - busto!)
Game 2
88 v JT (he hits - leaves me ss)
44 v K5o (he hits im busto!)

The only other person that bt me tonight was a silverstar reg called "dochvtech" who was pretty soft, but (like every $6 HU player) got shove happy as soon as he had 1000 or less!!

i did play one guy who just shoved EVERY hand which was insane. Luckily for me i picked up QQ first hand and he had 58o and a scary 8 on board had me on edge (tell ive been running poo eh?!) but turn and river blanks settled my nerves!

which now makes me breakeven - rake, which i am happy to be at considering the horrible downswing i experienced.

i also played a $5 32 man HUsng and decided if i cashed i would play in tonights $22 $5k gaurenteed HU.

The match lasted forever, and i got him down to 600chips, with blinds at 50/100
He shoves with Q9o v my A8ss and hits his Q on the turn. He then proceeds to shove EVERY hand (this seems to happen a lot in these HU tournys!)
Going into the break with blinds raising to 75/150 he has me dominated 2100 v 900 lol
FUCKED!
I end up shoving with AJ v his KQ, flop comes KKx and the dream is over.

Roll is looking pretty bleak, as mentioned prior im back at $100.

But i think i can definatly start to win $$$ at this and just grind away. Obv a score would be nice!

Only need to win 13/20 to have a 20% roi which is substantail and easily obtainable.

Also gonna allow myself mini shots if i win more than 6buyins a night. If so i will play 1x 32 man $5 hu sng, as i fancy shipping one of these very soon

Supposed to have a pool match tonight, in the singles, of which i am playing well in w00p!
Anyway that got cancelled, as i received the phonecall en route!!

Got home and went against my better judgement and loaded up my stars account which has taken all those horrible hits in the first month of the impossible challenge, or so it seems.

I decide ill just play 1 $6.25 turbo HUsng and see how it goes.

1st hand AA, i raise he shoves i call woohoo
anyways decide to play 2tables at a time and see how good my heads up actually is

first 10 games i win 8/10. One of my losses was due to me not adapting to a more aggressive hu player than me and the other was to a sic 2 outer on the river (aipf kk v 99)

the 2nd batch of 10 games i ran 5 wins, 5 losses however the last 3 games i lost as my internet went down and by the time it was back it was all over :(

all in all my roll is now $116, and a wee upswing seems to be taken shape! god forbid!

These microstakes are horrendous, they really are, makes you wonder how those online legends, like Boku87 etc do these challenges.
Summery of last month went from $100 to as high as $300 and as low as $27 and back

Day off tomorrow so will sit down and try and find/fix some leaks.

Kinda at a crossraods and dunno where to go from here.

Do i persist with these 180mans? A win wil double bankroll instantly!

Seriously had enough right about now

terrible session again tonight, mainly playing the $3 10 man turbos.

wonder if i am just destined to run like dog shite all the time!

started off with 8 180 mans, which i managed one cash in 11/180.
Although got JJ v AJ and lost both times appraoching the money in 2 others.

Then played a session of 25 10 man turbos
managed only 4 cashes but ran like fucking poo again.

Roll is actually at $150 and i seem not to be moving anywhere really - $40 losing session tonight.

I have to start to run good soon as i am running dyer, and am gettin my money in ahead roughly 75% of the time and still losing.

Granted im only a 1st in a 180 man from adding 66% to my roll but it seems like it will never come, at all.

Volume wise i have put in 57 180mans, so have to complete another 18 by the 3rd to be on track, however i have completed half of my 10 man requirement that i hadnt scheduled till week 4 of the month, reason being bar that last session of 5 which i didnt cash in any due to Mr Cold Deck kicking me in the face again, i was running a positive ROI in them.
i will complete the quaotas i gave myself but think these will be a tangable income for the future.

all i want in the 200 games at $2.20 180 is 3 wins, which is certainly possible.

Gladly with th enew stars fpp situation you can reclaim $$$ from 750fpps earned so these will help early on in the challenge.

I have also decided that during this challenge i will dabble in many different types of game to make it more interesting, like this month it is mainly multi table and singel table turbos. I think in Feb i may concentrate on playing more Double or Nothings and HU Sngs as well. Obv once i find a game i am cracking well, then i will keep that one and hammer volume out of it.

Come March i think i will try some of the non turbo 180mans (although TIME CONSUMING!!) and more cash, as it is my strength, i just cant face NL10!

i know its a positive attitude for a guy running the last week on a negative roi, but im happy with the way im playing, its just a shame that luckboxes seem to run riot with my chippies!!!

the first player last 56 hands, and altho running hot with AQ, AJ, JJ, JJ consecutive hands i had already chipped away at him and managed to close the deal. Found aggression was the best way forward in this so i continued that into.....

played a guy called RedFishButt who was nothing short of awful!
managed to chip him down to 900 chips only to get it on with j6 on a j68 board, he had j8 and crippled me
i then woke up with AK aipf vs his JT. board ran out xQxAK, so runner runner sent me to the rail. :( :( :(

180man turbos

after running pretty poor in these i got another FT which i took 3rd, my ROI is now breakeven at this level and i can start to look forward to some serious monies.
3 handed i jumped from Cl to 3rd and back, withthe blinds soo high its a case of raising and bettin flops, hoping they havent connected with your opponanat,
sadly the guy that knocked me out was just open shoving EVERY hand since he was CL after the 5th time i called with QJ, and he had A9. no help for either of us.
really gutted as my ROI woulda been huge if i had taken 1st or 2nd, but at least now i can concentrate on volume and the odd top 3 finishes will make up the shortfall.
I now realise that your aim in these is to merely breakeven and then the odd top3/4 finishes will be where the profit is seen. Knowing this is fine as i have maged to do so with the worst cold deck ive seen in months, maybe years for me. Hopefully that has gone.

Lastly i wanted to treat myself to the Stars Asia Poker Tour/Ept zippie which can now only be brought in the fpp store for 8700fpps in an ept goodie bag. since i only had 3k in fpps i have decided to invest them in the 6 man 280fpps 500 chip tubos.

These are great bankroll boosters and although i only have 30 fpps left my results are the following:

Man when my shit as luck disappears i will be cruising these, and i think thats why im not tilting as i see myself edge closer to the $100 starter mark. I honestly can see a string of FT's once this curse is lifted.

All i gotta do is make sure i sont abuse it and play worse, as my spots that im picking are good, and im just losing 80/20's like there 20/80's

Just tralled through PT and seen that:

won 62% of overpairs vs underpairs

now that is running:
-11% on races and
-18% on overs v unders

imagine how many more cashes and huge chipstacks i woulda had!?

About 8 buyins down on the $2.20 180 mans atm, which sucks but i cant complain too much as not once on the last 20 games have i put my money in behind, just had 2 and 3 outers hit against me time and time again. When varience catches back up with me i should run uber hot.

can definatly see an ROI of 20% being acheivable once i stop running like poo.

ROI means nothing until i start uping my volume as all i need is 2 fts and itll sore!
if i win the next one my ROI goes form like -17% to + 137% lol

back a couple of top 3 finsihes and fml ill be screaming,

deffo think these will be a decent little earner for the challenge

Cureently i have played 10, cashed in 2, both FT finishes (4th and 7th)

and have a ROI of 88% lol, now obviously thats not sustainable but i think a 20% roi is probably achiveable.

20% would mean i would need to earn on ave $4 every session of 10 games, which is cash in 1/10 games pretty much

if i can maintain 20% ill be chuffed and means i can move up tp the $7 180's in approx 1500 games lol

need to be playing a minimum of 100 a week, as thatll take me to late march, leaving only 9 months left in challenge! Just have to hope i can hold a 20% roi in the $7 dollar ones as well.

Being brutally honest, the $2 require no real thought as its push or fold, for the majority.

Im looking into treating myself to a 19-22" 2nd moniter, so i can multitable more tables, as volume in this challenge is really key - and concentrating not really required espec at $2 level.

i could quite easily 12 table then whereas at the mo im 5 tabling on one moniter.

Things are looking a little more structured now, in stead of just regging for whatever and trying to score big,

Played the Daily Dollar again on Full Tilt but never got going and eventually busted in the middle of the field.
Span my last $14 in $27 to play the $32k gaurenteed, $26 entry on tilt with the last of my roll. Silly i know but felt good.
Nursed a shortstack for a long time, 189 got paid with 1600+ runners
i got deep AGAIN and bust on a cold deck tbh
Exit hand was Q7 v A7 on A Q 7 board. i finished 326th so not far from monies again.

Also with the challenge have been speaking to a few good friends of mine, stato_1 and 147_star, reg what to play.

decided to play a set of 5x $2.20 180 man sngs on Stars.

they are basically shove or fold games but very soft and stato_1 reckons i could realistically jus tplay these and move up levels when rolled and make the $8k quick.

I do know there are leaderboards on sharkscope for these so i have now an aim. to get on that leaderboard for the micros atm

the 1st 3 i finished in last 50 players, but then made 2 FT's finishing 7th and 4th for a grand total of $41.40, so $30.40 profit., atm thats a huge roi!!!!

these are definatly worth a grind, and easy to multitable as there are no real decisions.

Sadly Tilt is empty but i have enjoyed the tournys there so will prob use Jans deposit to put a lil on there to play the Daily $ when i can.

Finally got through a bubble, in the cashout tourny however actually won less than my buyin lol

won $9 and it cost me $11 to enter.

When the bubble burst i had a cashout value of about $40 and due to the challenge i was thinking about cashing out, leaving myself a miniaml amount of chips to gamble with.
Say cash out $37 worth and then play on with shortstack, worst senario is i get another $8 for cashing anyways.

As i thought this that BITCH with 41k in screen shot was a shortstack and shoved. i had AJdd and called. She had AQ.... :(

MTT issue

Played about 10 mtts after a huge stint of cash and not cashed in one!!
However i have bubbled 4 of them (by bubble i mean in 5% before monies)

This always seems to be a problem of mine, and results in even when i do cash its not as uberdeep as it should be. I think i have realised why and have tried to fix the leak, but it still happens.

Well i just finished my sic horrible session a grand total of $130 down leaving my roll at $114

All the hard work for December gone, which sucks ass

as i am aiming high and wanna really get out of uber micro stakes asap i have the following setup

$100 - $250 = NL10 X 4
$250-$500 = NL10 X 2, NL25 X 2
$500-$750 = NL25 X 4
$750-$1000 = NL25 X 2 NL50 X 2

problem with tonights session is i started BADLY and tried to play catch up until i was right back to where i started!!!

Missus is going away for xmas on tuesday so will be hammering in the sessions in the evening

Aiming to get a shedload of hands in at NL10 (Again) with the following schedule.

Sunday night - 1000 hands minimum along side the FTOPS Main Event
Tuesday Night - 1000 hands 4 tabling NL10
Wednesday night - 1000 hands
xmas eve - the same
Xmas day - the same
Sunday 27th - 1000 hands minimum

so thats a projected 6k hands before end of the month so hopefully i can rectify my nightmare tonight.
